Last night, we made this delicious meal on the grill: pork chops soaked in teryaki, apple cider vinegar, curry, and pepper, mangos, and some flatbread.

There it is, grillin’ up all nice and charred.

Check out that delicous mango. It was so good, really soft and warm and came right out of the skin.

Also, we were in CB the weekend of Easter, and I made my little brother (who is about to turn 3) a little stuffed animal for his birthday, and he really loved it, and he thought it was a dinosaur. He told me he liked me at least once a minute, and if not me, he told me he liked his dinosaur.

I also made that sweater, but I may post about that in more detail in the days to come.

And, last but not least, a picture of Kitty with a string on her head!

Design Portfolio Comments

Thursday, March 27, 2008

So, I got my midterm portfolio back, complete with comments! These are just a few of the ones I am supposed to redo for the final, but I think the mistakes are pretty imperceptable, not to mention the fact that I couldn’t care less and never will I ever want to spend hours in my life inking straight lines and using geometry to prove my forms. In fact, that is the opposite of what I want to spend hours doing.

Zine A Day Exhibit

Monday, March 17, 2008

poster1.jpgposter2.jpg
So, our zines are going be displayed at White Rabbit April 4-17 (4.7-17), probably via some kind of pulley system, with a few shelves. It should be pretty awesome. Jay and I made these posters to get the word out, and made negative versions when we went to copy them - these are those. Click to view full size.

Spring is nigh.

Thursday, March 13, 2008

Man, so many good things come with spring.  First and foremost, all the snow is melting away!! This enables us to just jump on our bikes and go anywhere we want anytime without having to conform to bus schedules or walk, which entails avoiding puddles and also walking really slow because all the sidewalks are coated in several inches of ice. It isn’t going to take a half an hour to get to class in the morning! I can wear whatever shoes I want - sandals, canvas flats, or even no shoes! I won’t have to consult the weather report every time I want to leave the house to see how many shirts I have to put on! I won’t have to climb down an ice hill, over an ice mountain and up an ice path to get into our place! I won’t have to deal with the ridiculous blanket we put on our door to insulate! Imagine, I can enter and exit without slamming the door as hard as I can! It’s actually sunny a lot of the time now! I don’t have to wear socks! It’s still light outside when I get off work! We can open our windows and air out our place of all its winter stuffiness and stale air buildup! The cat can go outside, which means I won’t have to clean up her poop and puke! We can plant our seedlings outside and watch them grow and provide us with tastiness and beauty! Spring Break is next week, and summer is to follow shortly! Exclamation!

Midterm Portfolio Preview

Saturday, March 8, 2008

designfund.jpg
A little preview of what I’ll be turning in for my design/drafting class midterm portfolio. It seems really pointless to me, but I have to take it. I just don’t ever forsee myself needing or wanting to use geometry. Compasses and triangles, tissue paper and smearable mediums are a disastrous cocktail.

Bat Attack

coookies1.jpg

Orange-almond shortbread cookies cut out with a ten-cent cookie cutter. We made cream cheese frosting to go with them. They look kind of like a swarm of bats:oooOOOoooOOOooo

Also, a hoody for spring. Grey is too greyish for the approaching spring. Rainbow arm bands, yeah?

And a print made by Jay.
