from this semester.

A brooch with cutout stars of Canis Major, the constellation of Sirius.

A metal charicature of Kitty. Here’s a picture of her for reference:

And a couple more extra cute ones just for good measure.

This picture also happens to nicely show off my newish tattoo.

Here’s a pie I made last week, or maybe earlier this week. Brock said it was the best pie he’s ever tasted. It has pear halves and yogurt inside, under a crumb topping with freshly grated nutmeg. Mmm.

Here’s a quilt I’ve been working on. It is currently farther along than it is in this picture, but still a long way from done.
It was shown in our Intermedia class’s show on March 6.

Canvas made by me. Kind of blurry from the bundle of cat hair taped on it interacting with the scanner face.

One made by Jay.

One made by Brock.
Actual size of each canvas: 2 inches

My lithograph from my printmaking class. I have no idea what happened to my G - I must have spilled something on the plate.

Still life paintings we did for a painting class Jay models for. The top one is his, the bottom one is mine.

This is my linoleum relief that we critiqued today. I think it turned out pretty well all in all, except for a few things:
- I stabbed the crap out of my hands, multiple times, and a few of my cuts then got black ink in them, so they may or may not be permanently tatooed onto my thumb
- The first color I applied, the turquoise, I had a hard time figuring out how much ink was enough/too much, so the color is kind of uneven on a lot of them
- After running my linoleum block through the printing presses so many times, it was squished completely to the wrong size and shape, so the last color (black) doesn’t line up well at all on most of them.
This picture actually doesn’t accurately reflect the colors I used - the blue is VERY pretty blue-ish green, and the brown on the tree is actually noticeably brown, but you get the idea.

Vegetable soup, corn fritters, and mini apple tarts. What a meal. The apples were scavenged by our neighbor, Avery.
I’m working on a linocut in printmaking right now, and our critique is Wednesday, so I should have pictures sometime after that.
Also, the most psychadelic puppetshow humankind has ever held witness to will soon be performed, and videotaped for posterity. Look out.
